“Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes but don’t quit.” – Carlton Hilton

Success to me is two words: Always Growing.

Always growing because success isn’t always about the end, its about the struggles and the hardships that we face in the journey that gets us there. This is where we feel the weight of our successes. For example, if someone buys you a car, the feeling of excitement and pride are fleeting. You didn’t do anything to “earn” this car.  But, on the other hand, if you worked for 2 years non stop, saved your money and bought the same car outright, that pride and feeling of accomplishment can last forever. Success is not given, it is earned.

Now, sometimes we want to quit… with anything in life, quit working out, quit our jobs, quit spending time with people… we just want to stop moving period.  We get tired of waking up every morning to go repeat it all over again, that we start giving ourselves reasons not to anymore. Personally, sometimes I even tire of writing this blog.

But we as determined people don’t stop, we rest, we fall down, but we sure as hell don’t stop.

Because the journey is worth the results.

So much so that once you start seeing those results it becomes an addiction. We get to one place in our lives and begin to find new ways to grow ourselves even more. It is because we understand that it’s about being aware of the big picture and at the same time, focusing on each passing day, and making it better than the last.

We talked about complacency last week, about how people who are satisfied with themselves never feel the need to make any kind of change or growth.

We see this most in those who are like the example above of those who are given most in life rather than having to work for it. Now, don’t get me wrong, there are different stories and extenuating circumstances for every individual. But for the most part this is pretty accurate.

Know this…

It all begins with a choice, it all begins with you making a conscious decision to not allow yourself to stay in the same place.

So get out there are get inspired.

…and get excited for “Success part. 2”
