“Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have.” – Jim Rohn

Even though I discovered this quote truthfully about 30 seconds prior to writing this, I love it more and more each time I read it.

Todd Duncan, an incredibly successful loan officer and professional speaker once said to me: “Abigail, if you go out to the world and use your talents to give, and give with your whole heart. God will bless you in ways that you cannot imagine.”

What he said to me that day changed the way that I viewed my life, and especially my business practices. I find that the more that we can give to others and the world, the more we can receive, and not in the way you may be thinking, but in a spiritual and mental way.  When we give, we give with no expectations of getting something in return. Or at least that it how giving is meant to be.

I can tell you, since realizing in that moment that my talents could be used to simply help people in their own journeys, I could create a wave big enough to change the world. I started hoping that by providing people with something that they needed, that maybe I had, they would in turn, do the same for someone else, and so the wave goes. Since making this my main focus, I have been incredibly blessed in ways that I didn’t think at first would be exactly what I needed. I have noticed more people wanting to work with me, more amazing relationships being formed, seeing people succeed with the information or help that I was able to provide to them, and it has been such a beautiful experience.

What’s incredible, is that this is just the beginning of the things that are possible.

The fact is, when we give more than we have, or give more than what is deserved, we are showing the world who we are.  Caring for people beyond circumstances opens up a wildly different world for both the giver and the receiver.  That is because when we find peace and fulfillment in helping those around us, we become satisfied on the ground level, at our core.

Think about it in the aspect of coming full circle, if we create that waves that I was talking about, by sending it into the universe, we start by being the giver.  We will then see that someday, we will be the receiver of someone else who has the ability to provide for us, and that is the wave, THAT is the beauty of creating a world of givers.

We all end up receiving.

Also remember that God is the ultimate giver, his gift to us, is life itself. Remember how I had written about the probability of us being born? Well, we were given this life, to make waves.

Proverbs 16:3 – Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

Work hard, do good for others, give with your entire heart, and He will surely show up, and show off in your life.
